Feast of Justice Board of Directors
Mike is the Associate Vice-President for Student Life at Holy Family University in NE Philadelphia. Students from Holy Family are regular volunteers at Feast of Justice. He also serves as the campus Chapter Advisor for Habitat for Humanity, Philadelphia.
Mike currently serves as Board President.
Mike is President and Founder of the Greater Philadelphia Elementary Education Foundation and President of the Board of Directors of the Philadelphia Hospitality Network Board. He is also President of Angels Outreach International, Inc.
Mike is the Senior Accounts Payable Manager at Comcast Cable.
Mike currently serves as Board Vice-President.
Cheryl is a life-long resident of Northeast Philadelphia and a member and congregational Deacon at Redemption Lutheran Church. After co-founding a local youth non-profit called Rhawnhurst Turning Point, she now works as the Chief of Staff at Philadelphia Academies, Inc., a 50-year old non-profit bringing career connected education to underserved students.
Outside of work she enjoys traveling with her husband, binge watching Netflix, and participating in triathlons.
Carolyn is employed as a Project Coordinator with an international company which manufactures and installs automated doors. She has previous work experience as an Operations Manager, Regional Trainer and Sales Manager.
In her free time, Carolyn enjoys reading, spending time with friends and family, baking, sewing and cheering on the Philadelphia sports teams. Carolyn has a Bachelor of Science degree in Secondary Education from Shippensburg University and is a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Northeast Philadelphia.
Rev. Sandra Brown
For 30 years, Rev. Brown has served as pastor of congregations in North and Northeast Philadelphia, and currently is the pastor of Peace Lutheran Church in Bensalem. She has volunteered with The Maternity Care Coalition, Philadelphians Organized to Witness, Empower, and Rebuild (POWER), and numerous other community organizations. She has also served on various committees of the Southeastern Pennsylvania Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, including Social Ministry, Worship, Committee of Deans, Synod Council.
Dorothy is a resident of Bensalem and a member and congregational deacon at Faith Lutheran Church, where she co-chairs the Outreach committee and co-ordinates the worship and communion assistants.
She got her BS in Education at Bloomsburg University and M.Ed at Penn State,
Dorothy currently serves as Board Treasurer.
Mary is a member of St John’s Lutheran Church. She grew up in Buffalo NY and graduated with a degree in Music Ed from SUNY Buffalo. She is certified in Elem. Ed, having first taught in Lutheran and Episcopal schools and retired from the Philadelphia Public school system last year.
She has been an active church member her entire life, involved in worship life and music programs. She splits her time between substituting in the Public schools and working at Feast at Justice.
Mark grew up in northeast Ohio where he attended Kent State University and found his passion for writing and history (occasionally mixing the two.) He moved to Philadelphia in 2013 when he and his spouse relocated for Mark’s husband, Joseph, to attend seminary at the Lutheran Theological Seminary at Philadelphia, now United Lutheran Seminary. Joey is now pastor at Redemption Lutheran Church.
Mark has worked in church settings for the past eight years, mostly in positions relating to Human Resources and Staff Management.
Mark is also an avid student of history and is an historian of the RMS Titanic in particular.
Mark and Pastor Joey now reside in Rhawnhurst with their very lazy dog, Finnegan, their much more active cats, Chairman and Eva.
After graduating from Temple University’s Fox School of Business, Dan served as an AmeriCorps VISTA Volunteer with Community First Fund, in York PA for a year. He then returned to Philadelphia to work as the Loan Officer for Entrepreneur Works, providing micro-loans and technical assistance to entrepreneurs in predominantly disadvantaged communities throughout the greater Philadelphia area.
Dan now works at M&T Bank where he manages the Mayfair branch and works to use his to position to help provide financial resources and advice to businesses and non-profits. He also is the Volunteer Chair for M&T’s Center City Community Bank.
Dan is an avid Philadelphia sports fan, enjoys golf, restaurants and live music, and is currently making the move from South Philadelphia to Mount Airy with his wife, Alex, and his dog, Benny.
